A new direct Rail Link from Bogura to Shahid M. Mansur Ali Station, Sirajganj to be developed under Government of India Line of Credit. Contract between Bangladesh Railway & Indian consultant (JV of RITES Ltd. & Aarvee Associates) was signed on 27 September 2021 in the presence of H.E. Md. Nurul Islam Sujan, Minister of Railways & HC Vikram K Doraiswami. The signing ceremony was chaired by the Hon’ble Secretary (Railway) Mohd. Salim Reza. Other participants included senior officials from Ministry of Railway & High Commission of India, Dhaka and representatives of Exim Bank of India, RITES Ltd. & Aarvee Associates. The new railway route will establish a shorter Dual Gauge Link between Bangladesh's Western & Northern parts as well as Eastern & Southern parts via Dhaka. Once complete, the railway route would reduce rail distance by over 100 kms & save travel time from Dhaka to northern districts of Bangladesh by around 3 hrs.
