Visit of BNS Prottasha to Mumbai

Bangladesh Navy Ship (BNS) Prottasha visited Mumbai from 14 to 16 March 2022. The ship, commanded by Commander Mohammad Golam Kibria with a crew of 25 officers and 115 sailors, is on her way to participate in the 7th Doha International Maritime Exhibition and Conference DIMDEX 2022, scheduled from 21 to 23 March 2022 at Doha, followed by IONS Maritime Exercise 2022 IMEX 22, scheduled from 28 to 30 March 2022, at Marmugao. During the ship's stay at Mumbai, the Commanding Officer called on Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Chief of Staff, WNC and discussed various matters of mutual interest. Sports fixtures and social interactions were organised for the visiting crew by the WNC. All engagements were held adhering to extant COVID-19 protocols. Over the decades, collaboration and cooperation between India and Bangladesh has evolved in various fields, including intensified military exchanges. The visit of BNS Prottasha to Mumbai reflects the growing relationship and interoperability between the two navies in the maritime domain.
