A new Passenger Terminal Building(PTB) at ICP Petrapole was jointly inaugurated by H. E. Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Hon’ble Minister of State for Shipping, GOB & Shri Nityanand Rai, Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs & Shri Nisith Pramanik, Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, GOI on 17/9/21. The PTB will facilitate smooth passenger movement between India & Bangladesh. The 1305 SqM big PTB can handle around 550 passengers at a time. With 32 immigration counters, 4 customs counters and 8 security counters under one roof, the PTB gives a boost to border infrastructure & connectivity. The Ministers also laid the foundation stone for a common 2nd cargo gate. When completed, this will enhance bilateral #trade and smooth movement of cargo vehicles.
