Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata organized day long program to observe the “ National Mourning Day” with due solemnity which includes laying floral wreath at the bust of Bangabandhu at “Baker Govt. Hostel” and “Mujib Chironjib” corner of the Mission, organizing a special prayer for Bangabandhu and his martyred family members at the Mosque of the Mission, arranging lunch for the orphans in an orphanage, laying floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu followed by a discussion session arranged at “ Bangladesh Gallery” of the Deputy High Commission. Shri. Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Parliamentary Affairs of West Bengal Government; Shri. Alapan Bandyopadhyay, Hon’ble Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister of West Bengal; Mr. Sardar Amjad Ali, former MLA and former President, Bar Association, Calcutta High Court; Professor Shri. Suranjan Das, Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University, Mr. Sheikh Nurul Haque, former Chairman of West Bengal Public Service Commission and former President, Indian Red Cross, West Bengal; Shri. Gautam Ghose, Eminent Film Director and President, Friends of Bangladesh; Shri. Snehasis Sur, President, Kolkata Press Club attended the event and discussed on the enormous contribution of Bangabandhu in Bangladesh and in the world and hailed the economic advancement of Bangladesh led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Deputy High Commissioner gave the concluding speech where he paid his utmost homage to Bangabandhu and his martyred family members. He discussed the visions of Bangabandhu on various global and regional issues. The Deputy High Commissioner highlighted the aspiration of the Father of the Nation for global peace and shared prosperity, and in this regard elaborated how the Hon'ble Prime Minister is leading Bangladesh on its indomitable journey of sustainable development.
