Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata celebrated the Glorious Victory Day of Bangladesh with national flag raising and laying floral wreath at the bust of Bangabandhu at the historic Mission premises. The message from the Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble Foreign Minister and Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh on 51st anniversary of Glorious Victory Day was read out. As part of the 3- Day long celebration "Bijoy Utsob" at its historic premises, the second day of the celebration included discussion session, photo exhibition and cultural performances by artists from Bangladesh and India. H.E. Shri Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Department of Agriculture and Department of Parliamentary Affairs of West Bengal Government graced the second day celebration. Besides, a book titled “ বঙ্গবন্ধু এবং বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযুদ্ধঃ আমার ব্যক্তিগত স্মৃতি” authored by veteran renowned Indian journalist Shri Pankaj Saha, “Friend of Liberation War of Bangladesh” awardee was unveiled on this occasion. The discussion session was participated by Prof. Abdul Mannan, Former Chairman, University Grants Commission, Bangladesh; Prof. Dr. Imankalyan Lahiri, Chairman, Department of International Relations, Jadavpur University, Kolkata and Prof. Dr. Sumit Mukherji, Department of Political Science, University of Kalyani, Nadia. The cultural performance included a rendition by Sitar Maestro Partha Bose with Ustad Sabir Khan in Tabla and Shri Anupam Sarkar in Tanpura. After that, Artists from Bangladesh Sammilito Sansritik Jot and Bangladesh Abritti Samannay Parishad presented songs, dances and recitals.
