Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata celebrated the Golden Jubilee

Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the conferment of the Joliot-Curie Peace Medal to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Ms. Habibun Nahar MP, Hon'ble Deputy Minister, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change of Bangladesh Government graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The programme began with the Chief Guest laying floral wreath at the bust of ‘Mujib Chiranjib’ at the Mission. Messages by the Hon’ble President and the Hon’ble Prime Minister were read out which was followed by the screening of a documentary and a discussion session. Hon'ble Deputy Minister in her remarks highlighted the exemplary leadership of Bangabandhu in promoting peace and justice. Hon'ble Deputy Minister further highlighted that Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh has meticulously followed the footsteps of Bangabandhu by ensuring peace and justice and has established Bangladesh as a role model of development. The Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Kolkata in his remark highlighted the unwavering commitment of Bangabandhu to peace and referred to his speeches particularly the historic 7th March Speech and UNGA Speech in 1974. He further highlighted the enormous contribution of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh to humanity which earned her the global title of “Mother of Humanity.” A special prayer was offered on this occasion.
