High Commissioner Pranay Verma received the newly elected office bearers of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), led by DCCI’s new President Mr. Ashraf Ahmed, at the Indian High Commission on 31 December 2023.
High Commissioner conveyed his greeting to DCCI on the eve of the New Year and thanked its members for their active contribution to promoting business ties and economic partnership between India and Bangladesh. High Commissioner assured DCCI of close cooperation to raise levels of trade and investment, including through greater utilization of the newly-launched facility for trade in Indian Rupee. He highlighted the importance of developing regional supply chains and underscored the potential of the CEPA, for which negotiations are expected to commence soon, to make bilateral trade more robust and take it on a faster growth trajectory. They also discussed initiatives to build improved connectivity and closer contacts between the SMEs of the two countries.
