High Commission of India hosted a reception in Dhaka on 24 January 2026 to mark the 77th Republic Day of India. H.E. Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Advisor for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources of Government of Bangladesh attended as the chief guest. In his address, High Commissioner Pranay Verma noted India’s support for a democratic, stable, peaceful, progressive, and inclusive Bangladesh. He highlighted the deep historical and cultural ties between the two countries and underscored the importance of forward-looking collaborations anchored in their shared aspirations for prosperity, progress and partnership. Guests from all walks of life—including leaders from various political parties, senior members of Bangladesh’s government and armed forces, representatives from business, civil society, media, academia, thinktank and cultural organisations, as well as members of the diplomatic corps—joined the celebration.

ভারতের ৭৭তম প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবস উপলক্ষ্যে ভারতীয় হাই কমিশন ২৪ জানুয়ারি ২০২৬-এ ঢাকায় একটি সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে। বাংলাদেশ সরকারের বিদ্যুৎ, জ্বালানি ও খনিজ সম্পদ বিষয়ক মাননীয় উপদেষ্টা মুহাম্মদ ফাওজুল কবির খান প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে এতে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। হাই কমিশনার প্রণয় ভার্মা তাঁর বক্তব্যে একটি গণতান্ত্রিক, স্থিতিশীল, শান্তিপূর্ণ, প্রগতিশীল ও অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক বাংলাদেশের প্রতি ভারতের সমর্থনের কথা উল্লেখ করেন। তিনি এই দুই দেশের মাঝে বিদ্যমান গভীর ঐতিহাসিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক বন্ধনের কথা তুলে ধরেন এবং সমৃদ্ধি, অগ্রগতি ও অংশীদারিত্বের জন্য তাদের অভিন্ন আকাঙ্ক্ষার ভিত্তিতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত ভবিষ্যতমুখী সহযোগিতার গুরুত্বের ওপর জোর দেন। বিভিন্ন রাজনৈতিক দলের নেতৃবৃন্দ, বাংলাদেশ সরকারের ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তাগণ ও সশস্ত্র বাহিনীর জ্যেষ্ঠ সদস্যগণ; ব্যবসায়িক প্রতিষ্ঠান, সুশীল সমাজ, গণমাধ্যম, শিক্ষাবিদ, চিন্তাবিদ ও সাংস্কৃতিক সংগঠনের প্রতিনিধিগণের পাশাপাশি কূটনৈতিক মহলের সদস্যবৃন্দসহ সমাজের সকল স্তরের অতিথিগণ এই উদ্‌যাপনে অংশগ্রহণ করেন।
