High Commissioner Pranay Verma paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Liberation War Affairs of Bangladesh, H.E. Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, on 3 March 2026. They reaffirmed the strong historical bonds between the two countries rooted in the shared sacrifices during Bangladesh’s Liberation War of 1971. They underlined the importance of working together on the basis of mutual respect and mutual trust to further strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries.

হাই কমিশনার প্রণয় ভার্মা ৩ মার্চ ২০২৬-এ বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযুদ্ধ বিষয়ক মাননীয় মন্ত্রী, মেজর (অবঃ) জনাব হাফিজ উদ্দিন আহমদ, বীর বিক্রমের সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেন। ১৯৭১ সালে বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযুদ্ধ চলাকালে যৌথ আত্মত্যাগের ওপর ভিত্তি করে এই দুই দেশের মাঝে গড়ে ওঠা দৃঢ় ঐতিহাসিক বন্ধনের বিষয়টি তাঁরা পুনর্ব্যক্ত করেন। তাঁরা এই দুই দেশের জনগণের মধ্যে সম্পর্ককে আরও দৃঢ় করার লক্ষ্যে পারস্পরিক শ্রদ্ধা ও পারস্পরিক আস্থার ভিত্তিতে একসঙ্গে কাজ করার গুরুত্বের ওপর বিশেষভাবে জোর দেন।
