High Commissioner Pranay Verma paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh, H. E. Mr. Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain on 24 March 2026. Minister of State H.E. Dr. M. A. Muhith was also present along with other senior officials of the Ministry.

They discussed enhancing India-Bangladesh cooperation in public healthcare, exchanges in medical research and advanced treatment, cancer care, traditional medicines, and other people-centric initiatives responsive to affordable healthcare needs of both populations. They also discussed proposals for collaboration in areas of capacity building, pharma industry linkages, medical education as well as digital and AI-enabled healthcare services, based on shared priorities of the two countries and guided by mutual benefit and mutual interest.

তাঁরা জনস্বাস্থ্য খাতে ভারত-বাংলাদেশ সহযোগিতা সুদৃঢ়করণ, চিকিৎসা-বিষয়ক গবেষণা ও উন্নত চিকিৎসা সেবার ক্ষেত্রে বিনিময়, ক্যান্সার চিকিৎসা, ঐতিহ্যবাহী চিকিৎসা পদ্ধতি এবং উভয় দেশের জনগণের জন্য সাশ্রয়ী স্বাস্থ্যসেবার চাহিদা পূরণে সক্ষম, এমন অন্যান্য জনগণ-কেন্দ্রিক উদ্যোগসমূহ নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। তাঁরা এই দুই দেশের অভিন্ন অগ্রাধিকারসমূহের ওপর ভিত্তি করে এবং পারস্পরিক কল্যাণ ও পারস্পরিক সুবিধার ভিত্তিতে পরিচালিত হয়ে সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি, ফার্মাসিউটিক্যাল শিল্প খাতে সংযোগ, চিকিৎসা শিক্ষা এবং ডিজিটাল ও এআই-নির্ভর স্বাস্থ্যসেবা খাতে সহযোগিতার প্রস্তাবসমূহ নিয়েও আলোচনা করেন।
