High Commissioner Pranay Verma visited Dhaka University (DU) on 6 April 2026. He met with Vice Chancellor Prof. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam and other senior faculty members of the university and exchanged views on advancing educational cooperation and academic exchanges between DU and prominent Indian universities and institutions.

During the visit, High Commissioner toured DU’s Department of Theater and Performance Studies, Department of Music and Department of Dance, where he interacted with teachers and students and also witnessed some of their performances.

High Commissioner also visited DU’s Insititute of Modern Languages (IML), where he presented over 1500 books on literature and pedagogy to IML’s Hindi Department to support the development of Hindi language curriculum in the University.

হাই কমিশনার প্রণয় ভার্মা ৬ এপ্রিল ২০২৬-এ ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় (ঢাবি) পরিদর্শন করেন। তিনি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টির উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. এ বি এম ওবায়দুল ইসলাম ও অন্যান্য জ্যেষ্ঠ শিক্ষকবৃন্দের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করেন এবং ঢাবি ও ভারতের শীর্ষস্থানীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়সমূহ এবং প্রতিষ্ঠানসমূহের মধ্যে শিক্ষা-বিষয়ক সহযোগিতা ও একাডেমিক বিনিময়কে সুদৃঢ় করার বিষয়ে মতবিনিময় করেন।

এই সফর চলাকালীন সময়ে, হাই কমিশনার ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের থিয়েটার এন্ড পারফরম্যান্স স্টাডিজ বিভাগ, সংগীত বিভাগ এবং নৃত্যকলা বিভাগ পরিদর্শন করেন, যেখানে তিনি শিক্ষকবৃন্দ ও শিক্ষার্থীগণের সঙ্গে মতবিনিময় করেন এবং তাঁদের কিছু পরিবেশনাও প্রত্যক্ষ করেন।

হাই কমিশনার ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আধুনিক ভাষা ইনস্টিটিউট (আইএমএল)-ও পরিদর্শন করেন, যেখানে তিনি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে হিন্দি ভাষার পাঠ্যক্রমের উন্নয়নে সহায়তার লক্ষ্যে আইএমএল-এর হিন্দি বিভাগকে সাহিত্য ও পেডাগজি বিষয়ক ১৫০০টিরও বেশি বই উপহার হিসেবে প্রদান করেন।
